Choosing the Right Sign Type
The same sign can be made four different ways, and the difference is what it's mounted on. Here's what each option is and where it tends to get used.
Standard Self-Adhesive
A printed vinyl sign with an adhesive backing, applied directly to a clean flat surface. The most economical option and the quickest to fit. Best suited to indoor use or to surfaces that are protected from the weather.
Robust Self-Adhesive
Our heavier-duty adhesive sign, built to survive conditions that would lift a standard vinyl. It handles pressure washing and wash-down, which makes it the usual choice for plant, workshops and vehicles that get cleaned hard and often.
Standard Metal Backed
The printed sign mounted onto metal. It stands on its own, so it can be bolted to a post, fence or frame rather than needing a flat surface to stick to. This is what most people picture when they think of a site sign.
Standard Polypropylene Backed
The printed sign mounted onto thin plastic. Lighter and cheaper than metal, and it won't corrode. A good middle ground where you need a rigid sign but don't need the strength of a metal panel.
Traffolyte
An engraved laminate rather than a printed sign. The lettering is cut into the material, so it can't fade, peel or wear off. Used for machine plates, control panel labels and asset tags where the marking needs to outlast the print.
